Ongoing Partnership
Based in Greece, W.I.N. Hellas works to prevent and address violence against women while promoting gender equality, empowerment, and psychosocial support. Through a network of psychologists, mental health counselors, lawyers, and trained professionals, the organization offers support to women experiencing abuse within family, social, and professional environments. Its work includes psycho-educational empowerment programs, legal counseling, connection to support structures and agencies, and a dedicated support line for women who are victims of violence. For Georgia, this partnership is deeply personal. The film tells the story of a young Greek mother in 1964 Athens whose life was shaped by poverty, shame, silence, and institutional power. By partnering with W.I.N. Hellas, the project extends beyond historical memory and into present-day healing, awareness, and action for women in Greece and beyond. As part of this commitment, Georgia will dedicate at least two premier events, one in Athens and one in Toronto, to raising funds and awareness for W.I.N. Hellas's work. Proceeds from these special screenings will support the organization’s mission and help continue its vital work with women facing abuse, violence, and crisis. This partnership honors Georgia Korakis and all women whose stories were hidden, dismissed, or carried in silence. It also reflects the larger purpose of the film: to remember the past honestly, to stand with women today, and to help build a future marked by dignity, restoration, and hope.
